The life cycle of a story… or, the death of progress? (The picture)

Simple.

Yet, not so simple.

Correct path to follow.. But oh so freakin’ dangerous. To me.

I know myself. If I’m not careful, this simple cycle can turn into a deadly –to progress– never-ending, vortex which threatens to suck me into the bottomless abyss of “wanting the story to be perfect”.

Shit will never be perfect. There will always be more ideas I’m CERTAIN will make my story a trillion times doper, and those ideas always seem to appear AFTER the “polish” phase.

So, to protect myself (from myself) and to protect my story, I’ll white out the tip of the arrow pointing from “polish” to “think” and replace it with a “Stop Sign”.

(Patent pending)

Finishing over perfection.
